Body movements/postures, breath awareness and relaxation are woven together to rejuvenate your body and mind.  Babies are of course welcome (up to a crawling age only) and classes are designed so you can attend your baby's needs at anytime.  Annelies (an experienced yoga teacher and mother of 3) brings a personal attention to each student and her classes leave you with a nurturing and relaxing feeling.

We recommend you join this class after your 6-week check-up.  If C-section or any other complications during childbirth, please see your doctor first.

INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION COURSE - 6 weeks

Starting February 4, 2012                            Saturdays 12.00-1.15pm                $140

Starting March 4, 2012                                 Sundays 10.00-11.15pm                 $140

Mindfulness is mode of being, where we become more aware of the physical sensations in our body, our thoughts, feelings etc … and learn to accept whatever is going on in our experience (with less reacting from our habitual patterns).  This is a particularly useful tool when it comes to unpleasant sensations (eg. chronic pain), or difficult thoughts and emotions (eg. stress, worry, hopelessness).  Through this 6-week course, we will be developing the qualities of mindfulness (including awareness, focus, non-judgment and acceptance) by practicing a range of mindful meditation techniques (eg. bodyscan, mindfulness of breath).

Your teacher, Layla Weiss, has a personal meditation practice of ten years - exploring many different styles, including Buddhist insight meditation, the Yoga model of meditation and Mindfulness, which she also uses currently as a clinical mental health intervention.

BEGINNERS - 6 weeks

Starting February 23, 2012                          Thursdays 7-8am (60 mins)           $130                 Teacher: Claudia Brueheim

Starting March 13, 2012                                Tuesdays 6.45-8pm (75 mins)      $140                  Teacher: Carine Lo Presti

Never done yoga before ?  Wanting to refresh your foundations ?  Join this 6-week course to learn the basics of yoga practice.  You will discover how to move mindfully and safely in and out of postures, and how to hold postures.  Relaxation techniques and simple breathing awareness will leave you with a feeling of calmness and clarity. We are trained to modify postures to accomodate personal needs/concerns and we encourage students to practice within their own abilities.  No previous experience required.

Testimonial:  "Just wanted to say thankyou for sharing your Yoga knowledge with me throughout the last 6 weeks.  Your warm and calming manner made a beginner like me very comfortable !  Yoga quickly became the highlight of my week, and I immediately saw its benefits in my day to day life." GP
